Day 1

Well hello there world...
I have been struggling lately to sort of find my place in you. I feel torn between being Cherokee and Cherry and figuring out who everyone wants me to be versus who I want me to be. So this year instead of making a resolution, I am issuing myself a challenge. My challenge is to write a blog every single day about something real in my life-- and include a picture also of something real. I need to put something in the world that makes me feel substantial, and I think this will help. I hope.
I have no idea if any of you will read this. I have no idea if anyone will care. But honestly if I can be the realest me, and hope that I make some connections and try to reach out to others that share my feelings, that is all that
I can ask for.
This is not a fashion blog. This is not a modeling blog. This is not a beauty blog. This is a real person blog.
Thank you ladies (and few fellas) for always showing me unconditional love and support. I hope this project enlightens.

XOXO,
C

  2. You are beautiful even without makeup, crying over the holidays, or struggling to find your place in the world.
Many of us spend our whole lives doing just that. Do not be discouraged dear sweet lady, you will get there. You are beautiful, strong, and selfless. You have a man that loves you, the real you. I hope you have a good day :)

  4. We are facets of the persons we are on social media and whom we are in person. Can you imagine trying to capture all our essence in just 500 words or less or a set of pictures? It's like an author trying to convey all they wrote in their book in 2 hour movie!
I'm a blogger and struggle with the same - I'm sure many of us do. You're not alone but do what is right for your soul.
    Hugz! <3

  5. I love this idea! A blog a day surely won't be easy, but I believe in you! You have a ton to offer the world beyond beauty. Perhaps you can spend some time writing about what life is like when you don't have a "traditional" career. Many people want to do what you've done, take a passion and make it their life's work but it's incredibly scary and I think you've got a lot to say on the subject. Best of luck to you, Cherokee and happy new year!

  6. Be whoever you want to be Cherry! You really are inspirational, and although I only know you from YouTube you seem like such a genuine, down to earth person. You totally inspired my vintage wedding hair too, which I loved! So thank you for making us girls feel gorgeous by being yourself, which is awesome.

  12. You go girl! I can strongly identify with this struggle. I appreciate your honesty and I hope that you can find peace in knowing how inspiring you are...but even more so challenging to others...& myself. I need the human connection to be challenged by others through writing and communication.

  15. Dear Cherry,

I've followed your online presence for about 2 years and have always loved how real you are. I honestly am turned off by most YouTube stars because there's this veneer of insincerity, but I've never gotten that from you. And I think it's very much because you actively, vocally strive to communicate with everyone, be accessible, help women celebrate themselves, and just have fun with life :) You starting a blog is just one more thing that definitely affirms for me what a good online role model you are for the women of the world!

    Thanks for everything you do,

  19. It's nice to meet you Cherokee...look forward to getting to know who the lady behind the image is. I totally relate. As a mother with grown children, a wife who has a hard time being that due to health issues, and the isolation that I am living in ...the silence is deaffening...my blog, my fans it's a connection, but can also be overwhelming, everyone expecting me to be who they imagine...if I skip a day posting to FB, well, I know you get it. Like you said being caught between who are and well who you are. I am here...I know you have friends, but the offer is there, another shoulder. Ruby aka Rubys Musings

  24. So I don't usually post comments on blogs like this but I just thought I'd share, as this "I feel torn between being Cherokee and Cherry" as this really made me think.
Did you know a brilliant diamond has 58 facets (or sides)?
My point is (and there is a point honest), that you do not have to pick to be Cherokee or Cherry, you are both. You are also a wife, daughter, friend, business woman, role model (the list goes on), made up of all your unique and personal experiences, made up of many different and often contrasting sides. Never one thing without the other, and that's what makes everyone so unique.
So if you're ever feeling like you don't know who you are, the answer is simple, you are a diamond.

  25. Thank you for this. I'm 26 years old and a mother to 2 with our 3rd on the way. I never really got a chance to find out who I was in my early 20's. I'm only trying to figure it out now, but sometimes my categories are just "mom" and "so and so's wife". It gets frustrating because I want to feel like an individual without the backlash and the feeling of guilt because I want to be selfish for a moment out of the day... Anyway, thank you for being so real. Always. I'm thankful for positive people like you who are making a difference in this sometimes negative world. Here is to a wonderful 2016!

    1. Wanting to have your own identity separate from your family is NOT being selfish! It is being healthy and being human!
